YYZ features two exhibition venues–Y and Z–for 2D and 3D visual art, film, video and performance. Both galleries have ceilings over 4 m (13′). There is a display case 86 x 396 x 229 cm (2′-10″ x 13′-6″ x 7′-6″) beside the main entrance.

Visitors can browse through postings, publications, archives and other arts resources in the YYZLOUNGE.

All areas are wired for data and voice. There is a 173 cm (5′-8″) wide loading bay at the south end of the Y gallery.

YYZ’s facility was designed by Scott Srli and was made possible in part by Margie Zeidler of 401 Richmond Inc. and the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The following also donated time and resources toward the successful completion of the renovation: Neil Carey of Rescom Projects Inc., David J. Lieberman Architect, Donald Keith Moving and Flavio Trevisan.
